Rosneft has increased the resource base of Vostok Oil

MOSCOW, 15 Sep — PRIME. Rosneft, in the course of comprehensive exploration work at Vostok Oil and seismic surveys at the Taimyr cluster, has increased the resource base at the project by 300 million tons, up to 6.5 billion tons of oil, the company said.

“The company, in the course of comprehensive exploration work on the Vostok Oil project, confirmed a significant increase in oil reserves,” the statement said.

In particular, it is indicated that at the Zapadno-Irkinskoye field, based on the results of drilling the Zapadno-Irkinskaya 32 and Zapadno-Irkinskaya 54 wells, the State Reserves Commission approved the discovery of two new deposits with recoverable oil reserves in the amount of 101.4 million tons.

In addition, as a result of testing the well Peschanaya-1 of the Payakhskoye field, before the operation of hydraulic fracturing, in a depth interval of about 3,300 meters, a fountain of anhydrous oil was obtained at a reservoir pressure of 600 atmospheres. Currently, as Rosneft adds, preparations are underway for hydraulic fracturing and drilling of a cluster of production wells.

“All of the above, together with the results of 3D seismic surveys in the Taimyr cluster, allows us to talk about a significant, about 300 million tons, increase in the resource base of the project, up to 6.5 billion tons,” the message says.

Vostok Oil, Rosneft’s flagship project located in Taimyr, includes the already developed fields of the Vankor group and new fields in the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
