Rostec began serial production of secure routers

MOSCOW, 17 Oct — PRIME. Ruselectronics holding (part of Rostec) has developed and started serial production of routers to create a secure information infrastructure, Rostec said in a statement.

The device was developed and manufactured by JSC NPP Istok named after Shokin, which is part of Ruselectronics.

Rostec will supply power units for Sakhalin CHPP-1

“The routers are distinguished by a large number of modern communication interfaces, both wired and wireless, as well as sufficient performance and energy efficiency. We have started serial production of devices, at the moment 2,000 products have already been produced. By the end of the year, it is planned to produce another 3,000 routers, as well as expand the line of manufactured equipment and start serial production of edge routers,” said Andrey Tyurin, head of the scientific and technical center of the NPP.

Rostec also clarified that the router is running the Baikal BE-T1000 processor, and the software is entirely Russian development. The device is equipped with PoE ports (PoE – Power over Ethernet), through which data and power are transmitted simultaneously, which makes it possible to deploy a video surveillance system and organize access to video conferencing.

The design of the router allows you to connect a hard drive or expansion modules to obtain additional network interfaces and data transfer functions, the device is intended for use in small organizations with up to 50 employees, the state corporation added.

“High-quality telecommunications equipment of domestic production should form the basis of the IT landscape of Russian companies, both large and small. This is especially important now, in the face of political and economic pressure on our country. The router, which is serially produced by Ruselectronics, will help businesses reduce dependence from imported solutions, as well as to ensure information security,” said Oleg Yevtushenko, executive director of Rostec.
