Russia is advised to create a state structure to support IT security companies

VLADIVOSTOK, 6 Sep — PRIME. The issues of regulating preferential support for companies in the field of information security that “drop out” of the IT support program should be dealt with by a separate state structure, and the Ministry of Digital Transformation has already taken this issue into consideration, Artem Sychev, Advisor to the CEO of Positive Technologies, told RIA Novosti on the sidelines of the EEF-2022 .

If we are talking about development, then everything is simple – there the Ministry of Digital Development, which is responsible for this, is making some progress. And when it comes to specialized work, … then this part falls out of the zone responsibility,” Sychev commented to the agency.

“There is a very large amount of work related to security analysis. This is extremely resource-intensive work, and besides, the level of qualification of specialists there is very high. This is definitely all work related to certification testing of software, again, because there the level of qualification of specialists there is very high. They need to be stimulated,” the adviser to the head of Positive Technologies gave examples.

According to him, someone from the federal authorities should take it upon themselves, calculate the shortfall in income, and calculate the effectiveness of tax measures.

“There was a meeting at the Ministry of Digital Development at the beginning of the summer. They discussed these proposals … They took it into consideration. They agreed that this category of work did not fall into the tax regime, they agreed that professional personnel work there, they need to be retained , create preferential conditions, and the rest was taken into consideration,” Sychev said.
