Take a look at this work of art that generates electricity from the wind

What you are about to see, you will probably be able to consider one of the optical illusions that will start to confuse you after a long moment of staring at the screen. However, the true purpose of Joe Doucet x Partners’ work is to get electricity from the wind while maintaining the aesthetics of a work of art. For the time being, however, the work remains exclusively on digital paper.

Before we get into the details, check out this designer New York City’s so-called “kinetic walls” for yourself. He took it to heart to make a small work of art out of traditional wind turbines, mesmerizing while working. In addition to practical energy generation, they are also to be affordable.

In the artist’s vision, each wall would have approximately 25 low-noise vertical turbines and would be connected to a 400 watt generator with a peak power of 10 kW. The energy from this connection would go either directly to the power grid or directly to the batteries. Their design also includes a high level of security and even putting your hand between the shoulder blades will not end badly.

The problem is that such vertical turbines are not efficient compared to the traditional three-blade turbines. While 10kW sounds fine, especially when multiplied by a few walls, these ground-level kits simply shouldn’t be able to generate much energy in most areas. However, as a useful decoration for public buildings or houses, they could work well.
