The HDR10 + standard was the first for Samsung, Panasonic and performed by 20th Century Fox

Even clearer picture thanks to HDR10 + standard. This one has already been described in June, but the moment has come when producers will start using it. The first will be 20th Century Fox, Samsung and Panasonic.

HDR10 + is in fact the fruit of collaboration between these three big companies. These decided to develop their standard to get away from expensive solutions from Dolby Vision and, of course, improve the open to all HDR10. Unfortunately, it was not possible to introduce a better specification than the Dolby patent, as it has achieved brightness from 1000 to 4000 nits and 12-bit color values, while the more expensive solution can boast a range of 10,000 to 4000 nits. However, it will be cheaper and this is a sufficient reason to implement HDR10 +.

Its greatest strength is adding dynamic metadata to each frame that improves HDR performance. We will wait for TV sets with native HDR10 + until 2019, when newer films from 20th Century Fox should be produced.
