According to the publication, the European Union has already begun to perceive Germany as a “problem” due to the country’s unwillingness to immediately agree on the proposed restrictions.

Politico clarifies that Berlin is afraid of retaliatory steps from Moscow in the event of a ceiling on prices for raw materials, in particular, a complete cessation of supplies. At the same time, Brussels shares these concerns, although some countries, such as Poland, want to limit prices for all gas supplies in Europe.

Earlier it was reported that the EU wants to introduce a price limit for gas coming from Russia in the amount of 50 euros per megawatt-hour, but they consider this measure risky.
