The new DualSense controls for PlayStation 5 include improvements at the hardware level

Sony announced a few weeks ago some new DualSense controllers for PlayStation 5, where the only novelty would be to offer new colors: blue, pink and purple, or well, that’s what we thought, and that is that regarding the original controllers, or the first versions in red and black, there are improvements at the hardware levelsomething that the company never revealed.

First of all, no, the duration of the DualSense will not increase, because these new controllers use batteries of exactly the same capacity, so there are no improvements, but there are more noticeable and important changes, such as the triggers of the controller now employ some new springswhich they are longer and stronger (from 0.25mm to 0.30mm thick), thus solving an issue at console launch where these springs could fail in the short term.

There are also changes at the level of the joysticks. Knowing that during its launch some users complained about ‘drift’, that is, phantom movements with the joystick, it cannot be proven that this update solves the problem, but at least there is a change that could suggest itAnd it is that specialized tests revealed that the joysticks of the PlayStation 5 had a life of 417 hours of use, so we would have to wait for a new analysis with these controllers to see if the useful life suffers any alteration.

And it is that basically all the companies: Nintendo with the Joy-Cons of the Switch, Microsoft with the controls Xbox or Sony with the DualSensehave faced, or are currently responding to class action lawsuits over this problem in the United States.
