The Radeon RX 6600 XT receives the target price of SEK 3,600 – in stores from SEK 5,000

AMD’s RDNA 2-based graphics cards in the Radeon RX 6000 series have not followed in Nvidia’s footsteps and with new cards climbed down in price and performance levels, but as expected, simpler models lurk on the horizon. Based on the graphics circuit Navi 23, AMD has officially unveiled the Radeon RX 6600M and rumor has it that two equivalents will land the desktop side in the near future, in the form of the RX 6600 XT and a variant without an “XT” extension.

The launch of the former is said to take place already on August 11, while the Radeon RX 6600 sibling is reportedly postponed to the future to instead land in stores in September or October. Based on various industry sources and the imminent launch, the rumors are starting to grind at an ever faster pace. Now information about the price picture is on the menu.

The American technology site Neowin reports the price AMD intends to communicate and approximately how the card performs, but with the caveat that the information has a month on its neck and therefore may be slightly changed now. The target price for the Radeon RX 6600 XT is $ 349, which puts it in the range between Nvidia’s Geforce RTX 3060 for $ 329 and RTX 3060 Ti for $ 399. It is also in the gap between these cards that the performance should land. Once the RX 6600 is released, Neowin’s source says $ 299 is the recommended price.

349 and 299 USD respectively corresponds to approximately 3,600 and 3,100 kronor including VAT, but French Cowcotland writes that these levels are not at all to be expected when the models appear in stores. Instead, the price tag from 499 euros, corresponding to 5,000 kronor and 38.9 percent above the target price, should be closer to the truth. It is not a shockingly high level set against the peaks seen during the year, but it goes against the better supply and falling prices that have been aimed at recently.

Cowcotland further writes that a limited volume of Radeon RX 6600 XT cards will probably be available at a target price, which was also the case with previous RX 6000 and Geforce RTX 3000 launches. However, Neowin’s source suspects that the availability of the RX 6600 XT will be limited regardless of price, which is not in line with rumors from earlier this week, nor with Cowcotland’s picture of the situation. It remains to be seen what the Swedish prices will be, but also if the launch takes place on 11 August.
