The secret plan to save Steem from Tron CEO Justin Sun

What happens when a centralized force hits a decentralized blockchain? Chaos. Tron CEO Justin Sun recently acquired Steemit Inc., the company that developed the Steemit forum similar to Reddit, on the Steem blockchain. With this move he took a large slice – an estimated 20% – of Steem's total capital.

Justin Sun's unfair move

The Steem community – which mainly uses Steemit to communicate – disagrees absolutely. Users orchestrated a plan to freeze the Sun-acquired repository to make sure it was used properly for network development.

Sun took note of the plan and asked for a collaboration with the main cryptocurrency exchanges, including Binance and Huobi, to take over the network and impose its will on Steem's blockchain, taking possession of the money coming from its share.

A hive of dissent

The Steem community, however, still hopes to be able to laugh last. A new plan has been developed, which will essentially move Steem to a new blockchain, one in which Sun's coins will be totally useless.

A pseudonym stakeholder of Steem and a cryptocurrency exchange, Blocktrades, proposed this idea, giving it the name of Hive chain. “Before long, we will launch a new coin which is essentially a new Steem hardfork, and will be an airdrop for all Steemians, without generally being an airdrop for Steemit.

This new chain will keep all our posts collected so far and our transaction information and will support all the same Dapps that we have learned to know and love, "wrote Blocktrades, on Steemit.

"I think all the economic value will shift to this new chain and the one to which Justin belongs will eventually die," added Blocktrades. He claimed that the Steem community has 36 experienced developers, as well as marketing professionals, businessmen, artists and creatives.

In addition, he said that several important Steem participants promised computing resources and significant financial support for the project. "Even at this early stage, I am absolutely convinced that I have enough support to launch and develop this new blockchain," wrote Blocktrades.

Does the Steem community agree?

Matt Rosen, Steem's witness (supports blockchain management) and developer, said: “On the one hand I don't think there has ever been a fork that ended up surpassing the original in value, on the other hand I don't think there has never been a situation in which such a large part of the community around a blockchain / token has been so opposed to what is happening. "

He added: “If the community supports us, then the plan has excellent possibilities. People are what ultimately matters, but it will still be difficult. " Whether it works or not, at least the revolution will be decentralized.
