This is how impressive The Matrix Awakens looks on Xbox Series X thanks to the Unreal Engine 5

Epic Games released an interactive technical demo based on the graphics engine Unreal Engine 5, we talk about The Matrix Awakens. This demo allows us to see a game designed exclusively for the new generation of consoles and PCs with the most advanced graphics engine on the market, although unfortunately only is available for download on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, not knowing why the company decided to leave PC users without access to this playable demo.

As you can see below, both Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss recreated with a great level of detail, enough to make you doubt whether you are seeing the actors in real life or recreated in the virtual world.

Even more impressive is the city, which consists of seven million instantiated assets, made up of millions of polygons each. There are 7,000 buildings made up of thousands of modular pieces, 45,073 parked cars (of which 38,146 are drivable), more than 260 km of roads, 512 km of sidewalks, 1,248 intersections, 27,848 utility poles and 12,422 manholes. Nanite intelligently streams and processes those billions of polygons, rendering everything in movie quality and at high frame rates.

On the other hand, the fully dynamic global lighting system, LumenUnreal Engine 5 leverages real-time RayTracing to deliver incredibly realistic lighting and reflections in all interactive parts of the demo. The demo also uses real-time RayTracing to generate the shadows of the characters.

The Temporal Super Resolution (Temporal Super Resolution / TAASR), the next-generation resampling algorithm in Unreal Engine 5, keeps up with large amounts of geometric detail to create sharper, more stable images than before. According to Epic Games, TAASR can produce high-resolution images with low processing cost. This brings more geometric detail, better lighting, and richer effects at higher resolutions.

Antes de ver el gameplay de The Matrix Awakens, we remind you that it is being executed from an Xbox Series X.
