The Ministry of Health of the United Arab Emirates has announced the launch of a blockchain system for storing assessment data by licensing authorities of healthcare providers.
The system will “store and transmit assessment information by local licensing authorities for healthcare providers, including doctors, pharmacists, and technicians.” Awad Saghir Al Ketbi, Assistant Secretary for Support Services, said:
“The Ministry has successfully developed the necessary infrastructure for a decentralized database on the blockchain. In the first step, we will link the evaluation system for health workers with public and private health authorities and other relevant institutions to create a single digital platform with access to a portfolio of employees. ”
The launch of the platform was the next step in creating the UAE Blockchain Strategy. Officials believe that technology provides great opportunities. Separately, the impossibility of changing data after it fell into the blockchain is noted, which allows “to provide reliable data, use it to automate processes and make informed decisions”.
Note that in May, the authorities in Dubai and the Mashreq Bank, based in the UAE, entered into an agreement to create a blockchain platform for issuing mortgage loans.
