MOSCOW, 29 Sep — PRIME. The Ukrainian state-owned energy trader Energy Company of Ukraine will start supplying electricity to Poland in October, according to a company press release published on Thursday.
The state energy trader JSC Energy Company of Ukraine (JSC ECU) will start supplying electricity to Poland from October 1, 2022.
It is noted that as a result of winning the auction, the Energy Company of Ukraine received the right to export electricity to Poland with a capacity of 110 MW or 50% of the export volume offered at the auction.
Earlier, the chairman of the board of NPC Ukrenergo, Volodymyr Kudrytsky, said that Ukraine is now exporting more than 600 MW of electricity to neighboring countries – Poland, Moldova, Romania and Slovakia.
In June, an agreement was signed between Poland and Ukraine on cooperation in the energy sector with the aim of improving energy security in Central and Eastern Europe and refusing to supply Russian energy carriers.
