MOSCOW, 18 Oct – PRIME. German investigators said “sabotage” was the cause of the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline accidents, The Wall Street Journal writes, citing a comment by high-ranking sources with knowledge of the case.
The material emphasizes that so far the German investigators have not come to a consensus as to who exactly could arrange sabotage. However, according to the sources of the newspaper, Russia is accused of the so-called “involvement” in these events.
Explosions at the Nord Streams in the Baltic Sea occurred at the end of September. Various versions of what caused the sabotage were put forward by both Western countries and Moscow, and Russian President Vladimir Putin even claimed that the accident was “organized by the Anglo-Saxons.” The US authorities reject the version of their involvement in this event.
German investigators have already studied photographs of the Nord Stream leaks taken by an underwater drone. They pointed out that the damage could only have been caused by the use of explosives.
