YouTube has paid more than $ 30 billion to content creators in three years

The YouTube CEO said the platform has paid more than $ 30 billion to content creators over the past three years. The Google-owned service promises to continue working on improvements for content creators and viewers.

In 2019 alone, YouTube contributed $ 16 billion to US GDP. Oxford Economics considers this to be tantamount to creating 345,000 full-time jobs.

Content creators are trying to diversify their sources of income. Last year, the number of subscriber revenue channels, Super Stickers, Super Chats, tripled. The number of channels that have joined the YouTube affiliate program has more than doubled.

Some of the changes planned for this year were discussed. YouTube is going to increase the transparency of its policy that affects content creators to improve the appeal process. In the US, content creators will be able to indicate their gender, time, ethnicity and orientation.
