AMD enables Smart Access Memory on Ryzen 3000 Series processors

Recently the AMD Radeon RX 6000 Series, some graphics cards that had a feature called Smart Access Memory which, based on the characteristic Resizable BAR from PCI Express specification, allows AMD Ryzen 5000 Series processors to access the entire graphics card memory at once, instead of the usual 256MB.

Today, together with the presentation of the AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT, it has been announced that AMD Ryzen 3000 Series processors will also support this feature, so hopefully we can see soon BIOS updates as well as graphics driver updates, that allow us to prepare our team to have support for Smart Access Memory .

In principle, Smart Access Memory will continue to work only with AMD Radeon RX 6000 Series graphics cards, so if we have 5000 series graphics cards we will continue without luck, at least for now, because there is always the possibility that the AMD graphics division will do the same thing that they have done for the AMD Ryzen 3000 processors and enable Smart Access Memory to be enabled in some way on AMD Radeon RX 5000 Series
