AMD says TSMC will have additional production capacity in the second half of the year

AMD CEO Lisa Su admitted that in the past year the demand exceeded the values ​​planned by the company itself, so there was a shortage of certain types of products.

According to the head of AMD, the deficit affected the initial price niches of the PC segment and the gaming market the most. Apparently, the latter includes not only discrete video cards, but also game consoles. The industry, according to Lisa Su, should increase the production of components in the current environment. If we talk about TSMC, then it will be able to do this no earlier than the second half of the year. In the first half of the year, the deficit will remain, but this did not prevent AMD from formulating a forecast of a 37% increase in revenue for the whole of 2021.
