Asus clears Geforce RTX 3050 Ti with 4 GB GDDR6

In the autumn of 2020, Nvidia lifted the lid on the Geforce RTX 3000 series with the fresh architecture “Ampere” under the shell. As usual, the family’s most powerful models took the lead, where RTX 3090, RTX 3080 and RTX 3070 were eventually joined by the duo RTX 3060 with and without a “Ti” ending.

Apart from the fact that all graphics cards shine with their absence in the trade, 3,650 cones is the recommended starting price for the Geforce RTX 3060. Thus, there are no more wallet-friendly graphics card options, while the latter card is such a thirsty story that extra power supply is needed. Now Asus reveals that simpler donations are coming, at least for laptops.

Via the product page for a portable TUF gaming computer, the Asus Geforce RTX 3050 Ti lists the sharp-sighted Twitter user momomo_us notes. It is no surprise that such a card will be part of the “Ampere” family, but the company’s piano tramp suggests that the launch is not very remote. The dedicated variants have so far been launched or unveiled in the same crank, which can be assumed to be the case with the RTX 3050 Ti as well.

Asus’ listing reveals only a few details about the card, the largest of which is 4 GB of GDDR6-type graphics memory. The same amount of memory should also apply to an even simpler Geforce RTX 3050 sibling, which the Twitter user has unearthed elsewhere. Whether the amount of memory spills over to the desktop variants can only be speculated on. It is clear, however, that Nvidia now welcomes graphics cards with a 50-end into the RTX world, where the RTX 2000 series’ simplest model was the RTX 2060.

At the time of writing, it is unclear when the mobile and stationary entry cards will see the light of day and at what prices. However, given that the stationary Geforce RTX 3060, as mentioned, starts at SEK 3,650, it is unlikely that the RTX 3050 Ti will reach well below the SEK 3,000 mark.
