ASUS ZenBook 14: soon also with AMD Ryzen 4000 processors

ASUS is preparing a new version of the family notebook ZenBook 14, equipped under the body of one of the new AMD Ryzen 4000 processors based on Zen 2 architecture. The information comes from twitter and includes indications on the technical characteristics of the model ZenBook UX434IQ.

Specifically, this model would be equipped with AMD Ryzen 7 4700U processor, model with 15 Watt TDP and characterized by 8-core architecture. The base clock frequency is 2 GHz, while the maximum turbo value touches 4.1 GHz according to the specifications shared by AMD.

To complete the equipment of this notebook we find 16 Gbytes of LPDDR4x memory with 4,266 MHz clcok, 1TB SSD obviously with PCI Express interface and one discrete video card NVIDIA GeForce MX 350. The latter component is certainly peculiar, thinking of the processing power of the GPU integrated in the AMD Ryzen 7 4700U processor, but we must consider the fact that previous versions of ASUS ZenBook notebooks are equipped with a dedicated GPU in combination with Intel Core processors.

The GeForce MX350 GPU is based on the GP107 chip of the Pascal family; integrates 640 Cuda Cores in combination with 2 Gbytes of GDDR5 memory at 7Gbps frequency, with 64bit amplitude bus. For the Vega 7 GPU integrated in the AMD Ryzen 7 4700U processor we find instead 7 Compute Units for a total of 448 streaming processors; the memory is that shared by the system, in this case able to offer a remarkable bandwidth thanks to the use of LPDDR4x modules at 4,266 MHz clock.

Lacks details on the type of screen paired; looking at the ZenBook models on the market it should be a solution with Full HD resolution, without touch functionality. The ZenBook range it also integrates a touchpad that turns into a secondary screen, useful for monitoring and running some applications through a specific launcher.
