Axiane Meunerie adopts blockchain to follow its “Savoir Terre” flour

Axiane Meunerie, one of the leaders in the manufacturing and marketing of flour in France, now allows consumers to easily trace the origin and manufacturing stages of its products thanks to the blockchain technology.

From a French and sustainable agriculture, the "Savoir Terre" flour fromAxiane Meunerie, a subsidiary of the agricultural cooperative Axereal, is now traceable on the blockchain.

By scanning a QR code with their smartphone, consumers can know the identity of farmers having participated in the manufacture of their flour, as well as the location of their exploitation.

The implementation of this application is part of the brand's DNA Know Earth bringing consumers and farmers together. It is a concrete response to consumer expectations on societal, environmental and economic issues, "commented David Hubert, CEO of Axiane.

In addition, consumers can view the locations for grain storage, wheat crushing and flour packaging.

The blockchain tracking solution used by Axiane is based on the technology developed by the French startup Connecting Food, which will notably carry out audits of the product supply chain.

More and more players in the food industry are turning to blockchain in order to propose a traceability strengthened to their customers.

Last month, the supplier of olive oil CHO for example joined the blockchain program IBM Food Trust to guarantee consumers the quality and origin of its oils.
