be quiet! Shadow Rock Slim 2 CPU cooler tested – compact and quiet

Gradually, for the range at be quiet! new versions of popular coolers hit the market, today it’s the turn of the Shadow Rock Slim. You can read in the following article whether the successor can assert itself in the middle class. By the way, Pure Rock Slim 2 and Silent Loop 2 were already on the test bench, now the Shadow Rock Slim 2 is coming.

Packaging and scope of delivery

We don’t waste a long time with the appearance, you can see the well-known black design. As usual, a large product picture is emblazoned on the front, the pages then provide information about the specifications and on the back there is a brief description.

The accessories were packed in small bags, strictly separated according to the base, and only the bare essentials were included: A small tube of white thermal paste and another set of clips for the optional second fan.

Assembly and installation

In my opinion, the attachment of the cooler has improved a lot compared to its predecessor. Various small parts and mini wrenches and a separate backplate for AM4 disappeared.

Now you simply use two brackets, which are screwed into the existing backplate of the mainboard and fix the cooler with two screws and a bracket in the middle.
