Beta Overwatch 2 – what do you need to know before testing the long-awaited production?

Overwatch 2 is finally not a title known only from developer stories and old video materials. What should players know about the upcoming beta?

The Overwatch 2 beta is approaching fast. Players will be able to test the long-awaited production and see if the game could actually be an extension of the first part or if there were more important changes.

Who will play the Overwatch 2 beta? There are many factors that determine the selection of beta-testers, including the Battle.net region, submission date, and computer hardware specifications. Invitations will also be sent to individually selected journalists and active community members from around the world.

The most important information about the Overwatch 2 beta

Don’t own Overwatch 1? You’re not playing the Overwatch 2 beta! You must own a copy of Overwatch 1 to access the first closed beta. However, there is one more condition – the first closed beta will only be available on PC. Blizzard plans to include console players only for future tests.

The closed beta tests themselves will run from April 26, 2022. To participate in the Beta Test, players must go to the Beta page and click the “Apply to Beta” button. Once clicked, you’ll be asked to sign in with or create your Battle.net ID.

Finally, it is worth making sure that Overwatch 2 will work on our computer. Blizzard has provided the hardware requirements for the PC production.

Minimum (30 fps):

  • Operating system: Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 10 64-bit (with the latest service pack)
  • Procesor: Intel Core i3 lub AMD Phenom X3 8650
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 600 series or ATI Radeon HD 7000 series
  • Memory: 6 GB RAM
  • Hard Drive: 50 GB of free hard disk space

Recommended (60 fps at medium quality settings):

  • Operating system: Windows 10 64-bit (with the latest service pack)
  • Processor: Intel Core i7 or AMD Ryzen 5
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 or AMD R9 380
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Hard Drive: 50 GB of free hard disk space
