Bitcoin, a whale moves over 1 billion dollars of BTC

According to what he says Whale Alert, one cryptocurrency whale has moved 94,504 bitcoins (of the value of over $ 1 billion, at the current exchange rate), paying $ 700 in commission to the network. This is more than 0.5% of the entire BTC stock in circulation.

Always according to the reconstructions made by the Whale Alert monitor, the operation would go back to September 6 and would concern movements between 15 addresses: in particular, more than half of the bitcoins (53,000 BTC) came from a single address.

Again, Whale Alert reported that the transaction was made by unknown wallets that do not belong to any cryptocurrency exchange, and that no one has claimed ownership of the transaction (therefore, all the information on the net is only speculation): what it is instead what is certain is that this shift has helped increase the Bitcoin price to $ 10,790 from $ 10,569 in a few hours.

The Token Analyst team tracked some of the 94,500 bitcoins to Huobi Global's address. However, the company's spokesman said his team will review the validity of the complaint, as per the statement provided in CoinDesk.

A theory yet to be verified suggests that the funds could be tied to the Bakkt institutional trading platform, which has already started accepting client deposits since Friday. Max Kaiser, head of the venture capital fund Heisenberg Capital, agrees with the view that institutional investors could be involved in a transaction of this magnitude, given that it is very difficult that more than $ 1 billion BTC can be moved by only one, although wealthy, private trader.

Another thing is certain: the secret movements of cryptocurrency "whales" are becoming more common these days. Last month, a move of another 77,000 BTC (worth $ 780 million) had been transferred to three unknown wallets.
