The BitMEX Exchange sent a notification to customers and included the email addresses of other users. According to reports, each message received includes 1000 email addresses of the other clients.
The incident occurred because of a script in which the BCC field was confused with the CC field.
The company has announced it is handling the situation, but the leak cannot be repaired because the messages cannot be removed.
“We are aware that some of our users received a general user update email earlier today, which contained the email addresses of other users. We make sure we do everything we can to identify the cause of the problem and contact all affected users.
The confidentiality of our users is a top priority and we are very sorry for the concern this incident has caused to our users. ”
it is mentioned on the official site of BitMEX.
