According to a press release shared with Cryptonaute, crossroads now offers its customers the opportunity to discover the whole production line for fresh Norwegian salmon Carrefour Quality Line (FQC) thanks to technology blockchain.
This FQC is based on the know-how of the producer Leroy which follows the salmon from the egg to the finished product. Thanks to QR Code present on the label, consumers can access an interface gathering a lot of information on the product journey from the place of breeding until its shelving.
They can for example locate via GPS coordinates the place of breeding or find out about aquaculture by the producer.
According to the French retail giant, the blockchain reassures consumers. Last fall, after seeing the sales of its “blockchain” products increase, he announced his ambition to deploy this new technology to all of its quality sectors by 2022.
The multinational is used to using a solution designed on the platform IBM Food Trust and based on blockchain Hyperledger.
