Competence centers asked the authorities for money to develop Russian software

MOSCOW, 24 Oct — PRIME. Russian companies have requested from the state for the development and development of software within the framework of the competence centers program 190 billion rubles for the next 3 years, RIA Novosti was told in the office of Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko.

The number of accredited IT companies in Russia grew sevenfold in 2022

In Russia, on behalf of Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, industrial competence centers (ICCs) have been created to replace imports of digital solutions in key sectors of the economy, which unite customers and developers in the creation and implementation of new digital products. Within the framework of the program, developers receive grants from the state, which compensate up to 80% of the cost of software development. The remaining funds are invested by the customer. At the same time, the rights to the product remain with the developer of the solution.

“At the instruction of Mikhail Vladimirovich Mishustin, about 40 industrial centers of competence were created, which were headed by the heads of leading companies in their segment: Russian Railways, Kamaz, Gazprom, Rosneft, Rosatom, Aeroflot. The volume requested by the centers of competence funding for the development and development of Russian software exceeds 190 billion rubles for the next 3 years.

It is noted that this is comparable to the annual costs of companies for the purchase of foreign licenses.

“The government is negotiating with industry customers to invest this money in development. We will receive the first results of the projects next year. The created solutions will be used by all participants in the economy,” the office added.
