Continued great interest in the Geforce RTX 2000 series at Swedish retailers

After a long wait, earlier this week it was finally time for the launch of the Gefore RTX 2000 series from Nvidia, with the new architecture “Turing” under the hood. The big news with the models include GDDR6 memory and support for several advanced technologies such as DLSS and real-time ray tracking.

At the end of August, SweClocker’s three large Swedish retailers asked how sales of the Geforce RTX 2000 series had gone in advance, and it then emerged that the RTX 2080 Ti was the more popular of the two. Now the smaller sibling has been launched and for SweClockers, two of the retailers say that the interest is still great among customers.

Both also testify that the reviews of the graphics cards did not have a negative impact on sales and the number of cancellations has been few. On the contrary, sales at both have increased after the tests became available, but the retailers do not usually want to go out with any concrete figures.

A quick look at the retailers’ websites shows, however, that at the time of writing, everyone has several different variants of Geforce RTX 2080 in stock. The fact that the pressure on the model is lower may be due to the fact that it is in class with the Geforce GTX 1080 Ti and it is only the more expensive RTX 2080 Ti that provides a noticeable performance life upwards.

Geforce RTX 2080 and 2080 Ti were originally intended to be launched simultaneously on September 20, but Nvidia recently postponed the launch of the latter to September 27. The Geforce RTX 2080 takes over the part of the segment that is currently held by the Geforce GTX 1080 Ti, while the RTX 2080 Ti has no equivalent among previous models.

Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti will be launched on 20 and 27 September, respectively, and have a recommended price tag of SEK 9,199 and SEK 13,999, respectively. This applies to the Founders Edition models in Nvidia’s own online store.
