Corsair H150i ELITE LCD in the test – colorful and with a display

With just about everything now featuring RGB lighting, manufacturers are looking for new ways to further illuminate their products. And so it is that we find more and more small displays in hardware. Today we’re looking at Corsair’s new AiO water cooler, which also features a circular screen.

Once again, an almost completely black box with small yellow accents from Corsair awaits us, and of course the large product image on the front and sides shouldn’t be missing either. The back then provides information about the features of this AiO, especially the functionalities of the display are advertised.

When opened, things are a lot dreary in the box, but that’s nothing new. The usual mix of cardboard casing and plastic bags.

The included accessories also consist largely of what can be seen again and again. Various brackets, spacers and screws. But the Y-cable for the internal USB connection is interesting!

This AiO requires a connection for the fan/RGB hub that is also included and another one only for the IPS LCD display. Since most boards only have two internal 2.0 connections, if at all, the splitter does not block potential front connections on the case or other internal uses. Good thinking, Corsair! Criticism also follows directly: Why isn’t there a tube of heat-conducting paste with a high-end cooling?

assembly and installation

First, the two matching brackets for the base are inserted into the side of the pump block. Then the plastic bracket pre-installed on AM4 mainboards must be removed, and four spacers are screwed into the existing back plate.

After the pump block has been placed on the CPU, it is fixed with four thumbscrews. Then you have to lay the cable and connect the included controller hub.
