Cryptopia liquidator urged developers to help return stolen tokens

The company Grant Thornton, engaged in the liquidation of the Cryptopia exchange, contacted the creators of the projects that were presented on the platform to recover information about client assets.

at the beginning of this year, resulting in the loss of approximately $ 16 million in ether and ERC-20 tokens. Then there was an attempt to restart, but it failed, after which the liquidation process began.

Grant Thornton has scheduled a meeting with the developers of tokens represented at Cryptopia today, during which they should express their thoughts on the current phase of elimination, further plans and answer a number of technical requests. Loyalty in cooperation was shown, in particular, by NoLimitCoin and TokenPay developers. Grant Thornton hopes this will help speed up the liquidation process that began in May, but Cryptopia lenders will have to wait at least a few more months for current forecasts. The liquidator also warns that stringent anti-money laundering and user identification standards will be respected.

At the end of the summer, Grant Thornton announced that it was finally able to access user databases. At the same time, it became known that all customer funds were located in single wallets, and this significantly complicates the task of paying the funds due to them.

An investigation into the hacking of the exchange is being conducted by the New Zealand police in conjunction with international law enforcement agencies. There is no information yet on alleged hackers who may be behind this incident.
