Deepcool AK400 CPU tower cooler in the test – good all-rounder for the middle class

It’s been quite a while since we last tested a Deepcool cooler here, so let’s take a look at what they’ve been up to in the meantime! Most recently it was a colossal twin tower, now an air cooler for the masses. You can find out how the little one performs overall and in comparison to the competition in the following article.

packaging and scope of delivery

The cartons that were still completely green at the time are probably gone, after all, color is not cheap. The new, plain white design shows the cooler itself on the front, if you follow the accent stripes in the well-known green on the back, a multilingual description and table informs you about the content.

Front

Back

To avoid damage during transport, the cooler is generously padded with foam on the top and bottom.

In addition to the obligatory instructions, an Intel backplate, mounting frame and screw part are also included.

If you want to operate the cooler with two fans, the appropriate fan clips are already included. A tube of thermal paste is missing.

assembly and installation

How could it be otherwise, the existing backplate of your own mainboard is used again for the AM4 socket. The frame is first positioned with four orange spacers and then fixed with four screws.

In order to be able to attach the cooler to the frame, the pre-installed fan must first be removed again. Then tighten two more spring-loaded screws and you’re good to go.

specifications

Here is an overview of the technical details and socket compatibility, further information is available on the product page from the manufacturer.
