Dell XPS 15 9500 and XPS 17 9700 laptops with InfinityEdge display

The difference between both models lies mainly in the size of the screen. The smallest model comes with a screen InfinityEdge 15.6-inch with 16:10 format and with a base resolution WUXGA (1920 x 1200 pixels) anti-glare, which can reach resolutions of 4K UHD + (3840 x 2400 pixels) InfinityEdge Touch anti-glare, both of 500 Nit.

The XPS 17 model, for its part, comes with an InfinityEdge screen that has the same characteristics as the XPS 15 but with a size of 17.3 ”. This display provides a color spectrum that covers 100% of the Adobe RGB range.

Both incorporate Dolby Vision technology with adjustable viewing angles. The processors that power these two tenth generation Intel Core «Comet Lake-H» models: they start from a Intel Core i5-10300H As an expandable base to the i7-10750H, i7-10875H and the top of the range corresponding to the Intel Core i9-10885H (only the XPS 17 model in this case).

The base memory configuration has a single module for 8 GB RAM on Single Channel and can be expanded up to 64 GB of RAM on Dual Channel at DDR4 frequencies of 2933 MHz.

In the graphic section they come with a GTX 1650 Ti Max-Q default for XPS 15 and is not extensible. On the XPS 17 it can be expanded to an RTX 2060.

Storage options only include NVMe SSD, starting with 256GB and up to 1TB of capacity. Both come with Thunderbolt connectivity: the XPS 15 offers two Thunderbolt 3s, while the XPS 17 offers four. In the Wi-Fi connectivity section we find that both models have a network card Killer AX1650 WLAN.

Both models come with Windows 10 Home Edition As the main operating system, although it can be configured and pay a little more to come with Windows 10 Pro from the factory.

Design, its strong point

Both teams come with color Platinum Silver, the inner part being colored Black Carbon Fiber (They are the names given by the manufacturer). Dell has used aluminum and carbon fiber in construction, giving laptops not only an impressive design, but also high build quality and durability.

They are now available on Dell's American website, and prices for the XPS 15 start at $ 1,299.99 to $ 3,693.98 for the top-of-the-range model with all the extras, warranty and additional support. Prices for the 17-inch model are not currently listed.
