The Moscow government is looking for a contractor to create a blockchain system for automating electronic services.
Moscow Department of Information Technology (DIT) has published a tender
to create a system based on Ethereum through which electronic services offered to Muscovites will be implemented. Estimated cost of development is almost 57 million rubles.
The list of services includes the issuance of certificates from home books and the provision of trading places at weekend fairs. The system should be based on a consensus mechanism of proof of authority.
It is expected that the creation of the platform will take 60 days after selecting a contractor and signing an agreement in accordance with the terms. The Department of Information Technology said it was seeking to increase public confidence in Moscow’s electronic services and services, as well as reduce costs by introducing the platform.
The platform should also be integrated with other blockchain solutions that are currently being implemented by the Moscow government. Including with a platform for voting called “Active Citizen”, which allows Muscovites to express their preferences on issues such as the location of new bicycle lanes and street design, as well as rating city events.
