MOSCOW, 3 Sep — PRIME. Eight people were injured in an explosion at an oil refinery in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador, local police said.

“Eight people were taken to hospital, some of them seriously injured as a result of the explosion. The fire that led to the explosion was contained,” the provincial police said in a statement.
An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the explosion.
According to the CBC television channel, eyewitnesses said that the explosion occurred on Friday after 16.00 local time.
