FAS gave a forecast for fuel prices in 2023

MOSCOW, 13 Oct – PRIME. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia expects retail fuel prices in Russia to be no higher than forecast inflation next year, head of the department Maxim Shaskolsky told reporters.

“Now the trend towards a decrease in wholesale prices and volumes is sufficient. Therefore, changes, if they can be, are not higher than inflation. I think that we need to focus on the inflation forecast,” he answered on the sidelines of the Russian Energy Week to a question about the forecast for the cost of fuel for car owners in Russia in 2023.

At the same time, with regard to diesel fuel, the FAS considers it necessary to increase the volume of its sales on the stock exchange. According to Shaskolsky, the service has approached oil companies about problems related to winter diesel fuel and is working with the government on this issue.

“The FAS is ready to work out the issue of changing the standards for sales of diesel fuel (on the stock exchange – ed.) Taking into account the balance of supply and demand,” the press service of the department noted in turn.
