MOSCOW, 10 Oct – PRIME. The official representative of Gazprom, Sergey Kupriyanov, recalled that in 2015, during the inspection of the Nord Stream, a NATO mine destroyer Sea Fox was discovered.
“Today, it is necessary to recall the events on the Nord Stream gas pipeline that have already been recorded. This case is well known. On November 6, 2015, during a scheduled visual inspection of the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline, the NATO underwater mine destroyer Sea Fox was discovered,” Kupriyanov said on the air of the Russia 24 TV channel.
The representative of the company specified that the mine destroyer lay in the space between the gas pipelines, clearly in one of the threads. “This is a point of 651 kilometers, a depth of 40 meters,” he pointed out.
Then, according to Kupriyanov, the explosive device was removed and neutralized by the Swedish armed forces.
“Gas transportation, which was stopped due to an emergency, was resumed. NATO announced that an underwater fuse was lost during the exercises. These are NATO exercises when a military explosive device is located exactly under our gas pipeline,” he added.
