Geforce RTX 3090 from Asus gets stuck in the picture

Tomorrow, Nvidia is expected to unveil the next generation graphics card in the Geforce RTX 3000 series with the architecture Ampere under the hood. The months leading up to the unveiling have, however, been dense with both leaked specifications and images, where, among other things, many partner manufacturers’ variants of the new graphics cards have been shown in the form of renderings and data sheets.

Videocardz has now intercepted an image of another partner card in the form of the Asus ROG Strix Geforce RTX 3090. The model in the image is almost identical to the one shown during a presentation earlier this summer, except that the nameplate “3080 Ti” has been picked away – something that suggests that Nvidia’s different name scheme with Geforce RTX 3090 is a relatively new invention.

A closer look at the card reveals a new design language for the ROG Strix series with aluminum accents on the radiator cap. The cooling solution itself looks to be a solid story with three fans that take up at least 2.5 card slots. The inverted fan blade of the middle fan indicates that it rotates in the opposite direction to the other two, which is usually a measure to reduce turbulence between the fans.

In addition to this, not much is known about the model, where both specifications and possible availability are still shrouded in obscurity. It remains to be seen if Nvidia will show something about this model or other partner manufacturers’ variants during the launch event on September 1 at 18:00.
