Raytheon Technologies is currently implementing the LTAMDS program (its name is also GhostEye) for the US Army, i.e. the US Army. On May 10, the company delivered the GhostEye radar program, which is to finally replace the AN / MPQ-65 sector fire control radars in the MIM-104 Patriot anti-aircraft and anti-missile defense batteries.
How much more effective can you count on? By itself, the GhostEye / LTAMDS radar is a 360-degree three-wall fixed radar that uses an AESA (Active Electronically Scanned Array) antenna with gallium nitride (GaN) technology. Compared to the AN / MPQ-65 radars, the antenna of the new device is 2,130 mm longer and 280 mm narrower.

It is certain that we are not hearing about this radar for the last time, as the first GhostEye fruit delivered is currently being tested. More will be added to it in 2022, as the company is to deliver a total of six prototypes of these radars, which will be the beginning of the dozen orders planned for this decade.
