How To ‘Increase/ Max/ Optimize/ Tuning/ Boost/ improve’ hashrate NVIDIA CMP 170HX Mining: Rumors that NVIDIA is going to release another specialized graphics accelerator of the CMP HX series for mining have been around for a long time. And now, the upcoming novelty appeared in the photographs. They were shared by one of the users of the Chinese forum Zhihu. Unlike most other cards in the CMP HX series based on NVIDIA partner gaming graphics cards, the CMP 170HX model looks like a reference server accelerator.

Despite the fact that the video card has 16 physical PCIe lanes, the manufacturer limited their use to four. Thus, NVIDIA decided to make sure that the computing power of the accelerator would not be used in anything other than mining, where these limitations do not really matter. Other features of the novelty also include a passive cooling system and the complete absence of any external video interfaces. The card receives additional power via one 8-pin connector (although the specifications indicate two connectors).

According to GPU-Z, the CMP 170HX has a base clock of 1140MHz and a Boost clock of 1410MHz. The card uses device ID 20C2 and works with NVIDIA graphics driver 471.41.

According to the source, the current version of the vBIOS of the video card does not support overclocking of video memory, which limits the possibility of its further optimization to increase the efficiency of the accelerator in mining.

In its current state, a mining test with the Ethash algorithm shows that the card without optimization shows an efficiency of up to 164 Mhash / s
