Hyperledger announces 8 new members including Walmart

The American retail giant Walmart and seven other companies joined the blockchain consortium Hyperledger.

Founded in 2016 with the support of the Linux foundation, Hyperledger quickly became one of the largest consortia blockchain of the planet, notably thanks to the success of its platform HyperLedger Fabric.

According to a press release, Walmart, Clear, Aiou Technology, Joisto Group, Tangem, Tokenation and two other non-cited firms joined the network Hyperledger.

Walmart is delighted to participate in the Open Source communities, coming together to create a scalable and adaptable technology. We have seen good results thanks to our various deployments blockchain, and we believe that staying involved in open source communities will further transform the future of our business, "said Sanjay Radhakrishnan, vice president of Walmart Global Tech.

The announcement was made during the opening of the event Hyperledger Global Forum in Phoenix in the United States. Walmart thus joins some fifty major companies such as Microsoft, ConsenSys, IBM, Intel, Huawei, R3, Ripple and Telefonica.

In addition, Hyperledger welcomed six new certified service providers, namely Beijing Proinsight Technology, Kompitech, LimeChain, Mindtree, Xoaa and Zhigui.

Last month, the consortium announced the arrival of the second stable version of its open-source distributed registers (DLT) platform Hyperledger Fabric.
