The publication Business Insider conducted a survey among young US citizens born after 1995, and it turned out that “Generation Z” does not plan to buy cryptocurrencies.
A total of 1,884 US citizens aged between 13 and 21 have been reported. When asked whether young people are planning to buy cryptocurrency within six months, 52% of respondents said they absolutely do not plan.
Only 5% of respondents answered “I am sure that I will buy.” 6% of young people chose the option “most likely to buy”, and 15% – “possibly buy”. Although the results of the survey were published only now, the study itself was conducted in January, before the rapid rise in the rate of Bitcoin.
“The intensified market and the growth of the cryptocurrency industry may lead to the fact that some of the 26% of respondents who considered the possibility of buying cryptocurrencies still do so soon,” the researchers said.
Earlier, Harris Poll conducted a survey on behalf of Blockchain Capital, which showed that 89% of Americans have heard of Bitcoin. In Russia, awareness of the first cryptocurrency is less – only 74% of Russians know about Bitcoin.
