Intel has finally unveiled the highly anticipated DG1 desktop graphics card. And its specifications did not meet the expectations of the company’s fans at all: the novelty received 80 execution units, 640 shading units, 40 texture units, a clock frequency in the region of 1700 MHz and a performance of 2.17 teraflops. As a video buffer, the card will receive 4 GB of LPDDR4X memory with a 128-bit bus and a bandwidth of 68 GB / s. The graphics chip is created on the basis of 10nm Intel SuperFin technology.
These characteristics roughly correspond to the outdated NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti video card, which had 768 shading units, 48 texture units on board and an FP32 performance of 2.138 TFLOPS
Intel itself positions these GPUs as entry-level solutions, available only as part of ready-made assemblies from OEMs ASUS and Colorful for extremely undemanding users. Colorful’s version has a design of the most budgetary plugs with passive cooling, while ASUS’s version will look like a standard graphics card with two fans.
