LG is clearly not satisfied with the five cameras housed in the V40 ThinQ model. The company has just patented a construction with as many as 16 lenses.
The 16 cameras are to be placed at the rear in a 4 x 4 arrangement. They are designed to provide multiple perspectives on one shot. The technology will enable the taking of 3D images, and will also facilitate the replacement of objects in the photos thanks to the additional data recorded during their execution. The cameras are also supposed to allow you to take selfies. The lenses are also supposed to have more uses, but the patent does not reveal all of them.
Of course, there is no guarantee that such a product will ever hit the market. The thing about patents is that they are not always realized. However, it would be nice to see such a structure on the market. I wonder if the quality of the photos would actually outperform the competition.
