Compact and powerful constructions in Mini ITX are becoming increasingly popular among home builders, which has led manufacturers to develop tailor-made components for the form factor. It is now clear that Taiwanese MSI plans to expand its newly launched range with another graphics card. This time with a graphics processor from AMD.
MSI Radeon R9 270X Gaming ITX builds around the Curacao XT graphics processor with 1,280 stream processors clocked at 1,120 MHz and a 256-bit memory bus with 2 GB GDDR5 at 5,600 MHz. For power supply, two 6-pin PCI Express are visible, but no details about the power consumption are clear.
There are no pictures on the graphics card, but judging by the name, it probably has a length of 17 centimeters. It is also revealed that the cooling consists of a “Radax” fan, which combines the properties of an axial and radial fan. It is therefore likely that it will be very similar to the MSI Geforce GTX 760 Gaming ITX.
In addition to a graphics card tailored for Mini ITX, the specifications reveal a new variant of the R9 280X Gaming with 6 GB GDDR5. In addition to more memory, the other specifications remain identical compared to the standard model.
Information on availability and price is not yet known.
