Nothing Phone (1) officially confirmed. When are we to expect the premiere?

Recently, a lot has been said about the allegedly emerging first Nothing smartphone. Now we have finally learned that such a device is actually being created. Carl Pei, the founder of the company, also revealed when we should expect the premiere.

The first mentions of Carla Peia’s smartphone appeared just last month, when the founder of Nothing himself signaled its creation on Twitter in a quite creative way. He did this with posts that were answered both by the official Android and Qualcomm account, so we know that the device will run under Android 12 and will be powered by SoC Snapdragon. Of course, it was not stated explicitly that such a device was being developed. Then there were rumors that at MWC, Pei presented the smartphone to a group of industry directors, including the CEO of Qualcomm.

Pei revealed that the unusual design known from the Nothing headphones released on the market last year will also be used in a smartphone. He also announced that Nothing Phone (1) is to be “the most attractive alternative for Apple”, which is a really bold and much promising statement.

Nothing Phone (1) “will be a breath of fresh air for the sleepy smartphone industry,” bringing users better value through a unique design. So there is something to wait for. And when should we expect the premiere? No exact date has been given here, but Pei has confirmed that more information will be made available later this summer.

Of course, no details about the specifications have been revealed, so all we know is the presence of Android 12 and a Qualcomm chip on board. However, the company is expected to work with Samsung, Sony and Visionx in the supply of components. The smartphone is also to receive a proprietary Android cover called Nothing OS. It is supposed to be smooth and quick to use, without overloading the system with applications.
