Today, October 17, Nvidia launches the third graphics card in the Geforce RTX series, which offers support for machine learning and ray tracing. Now many are waiting for more models in the series and then mainly in lower price ranges, this as the new RTX 2070 which is an entry-level model starts at just under SEK 6,000.
Now it appears that Nvidia can release another model in the higher price ranges. In a new campaign, Gigabyte Singapore announces that whoever buys a Geforce RTX 2070 or RTX 2070 Ti get a T-shirt with Aorus print.

* Values apply to Nvidia’s Founder’s Edition of each model, which comes with 90 MHz overclocking. In addition to slightly higher performance, this in all cases leads to an increase in TDP of 10 W.
A Geforce RTX 2070 Ti would mean that Nvidia wedges in a graphics card between RTX 2080 and RTX 2070, which have recommended prices of 699 and 499 USD respectively. It is therefore highly probable that an RTX 2070 Ti will be placed in between at 599 USD, which in Sweden would correspond to a price difference of approximately SEK 1,000.
Nvidia’s Geforce RTX 2070 is the only one in the series to be delivered with a full-fledged graphics circuit – TU106 with 36 SM clusters and 2,304 CUDA cores. It is therefore reasonable that an RTX 2070 Ti is based around a more scaled-down variant of the TU104 used in the RTX 2080.
On the memory front, an RTX 2070 Ti should have the same specifications as the RTX 2080 and RTX 2070, both of which have a 256-bit memory bus with 8 GB GDDR6 at 14,000 MHz for a bandwidth of 448 GB / s. Unlike the TU106 graphics circuit, the TU104 has the NVLink 2.0 interface and thus SLI, something RTX 2070 Ti can thus be thought to support.
Like the relatively narrow price gap between Geforce RTX 2070 and RTX 2080, there is not much that differentiates them in terms of performance. In SweClocker’s tests, the RTX 2080 is only 20 percent faster than the RTX 2070, compared to a slightly larger 22 percent advantage for the GTX 1080 compared to the GTX 1070.
Gigabyte has already denied the information and claims that it is a typo. However, it cannot be ruled out that it is a matter of damage control and that the company happened to anticipate the events.
