When Nvidia unveiled the architecture Turing and the Geforce RTX family was the big poster term ray tracing. In second place, however, undoubtedly came the technology DLSS – Deep Learning Super-Sampling.
In short, it is about what Nvidia calls AI-assisted upscaling of images, which should provide higher quality while increasing performance. But, what is DLSS really? Or maybe even more relevant, what is DLSS not?
Judging by the forum and other discussions, the confusion is great. It’s easy to understand why, when Nvidia has been, to say the least, PR-fuzzy around explanations and terms when it comes to technology.
