Nvidia Geforce GTX 1660 launches March 15 – followed by GTX 1650 on April 30

On February 22, Nvidia launched its latest graphics card Geforce GTX 1660 Ti. Like the Geforce RTX 2060, the GTX 1660 Ti is based on the Turing architecture, which means better energy efficiency and performance compared to previous models in the GTX 1000 series. The model also aims at the lower price segments, with a recommended price tag of SEK 3,250.

Ahead of the launch of the Geforce GTX 1660 Ti, it was rumored that Nvidia is also preparing even cheaper models with the names GTX 1660 and GTX 1650. The information is now further confirmed when Digitimes reports that the Geforce GTX 1660 will be launched on March 15 and the GTX 1650 will be released on April 30.

According to information, Nvidia will focus on the middle and entry class during the first half of 2019 to prevent the company’s profits from falling further. Nvidia has previously said that the company’s reduced revenues are partly due to the fact that they only launched models in the higher price ranges.

The company currently has few models that can compete with the competitor AMD’s graphics cards in the Radeon RX Vega series and Radeon RX 570, RX 580 and RX 590. They want to change this with the two upcoming models and thereby increase their market share and ensure that the competitor AMD’s drops to as little as 20 percent.

The Nvidia Geforce GTX 1660 will be launched on March 15 and is said to have a price tag of 229 USD, corresponding to SEK 2,700 including VAT. A little more than a month later, on April 30, the GTX 1650 will be released, which will have a lower price tag of 179 USD, which corresponds to 2,100 kronor including VAT.
