Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 Ti and RTX 2080 performance tests in Final Fantasy XV

On September 20, it’s time for the next generation graphics card from Nvidia, with the architecture “Turing”. It will be Nvidia’s first completely new architecture in over two years and will be the first time in several years that the company deviates from the name scheme with Geforce GTX. The new models will instead be part of the Geforce RTX 2000 series.

Prior to the launch, several leaked performance tests have been found on the web, but only in synthetic tests. The first results from games are now published, as Geforce RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti in Final Fantasy XV have appeared in the game’s database of tested graphics cards.

The results come from the game’s built-in test tools and the Geforce RTX 2080 has been run in the resolution 1,920 × 1,080 and 2,560 × 1440 pixels while the RTX 2080 Ti has been tested in the latter and 4K UHD. In full HD resolution, the Geforce RTX 2080 is defeated by the two older graphics cards Titan XP and Titan V, which receive 9,806 and 10,771 points, respectively, while the Turing-based model receives 9,726 points.

For the Geforce RTX 2080 Ti, the situation looks different, as the model ends up at the top in both tests with the graphics turned up to High. In the resolution 2,560 × 1440 pixels, the model gets 10,030 points, while RTX 2080 ends up a few steps down with 8,166 points. In 4K UHD, the difference at the top is smaller, with an increase of around 600 points over Titan V.

Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 Ti and RTX 2080 will be released on September 27 and 20, respectively. The prices for the graphics cards in Nvidia’s Swedish online store are SEK 13,999 and SEK 9,199, respectively.
