Nvidia Geforce Titan Z is sold at half price

A sky-high price and questionable performance against the main competitor Radeon R9 295X2 has hardly made the Geforce GTX Titan Z a bestseller, which is fueled not least by the fact that it will be announced with the battle of the new GTX 980 in SLI. It therefore came as no surprise that Nvidia planned to reduce the price of the graphics card.

The expected halving has now begun to have full effect worldwide and in recent days also in Swedish stores. The new US target price is $ 1,499 (down from $ 2,999), which today corresponds to SEK 13,990 at a few retailers. However, the price is expected to fall further and finally land at SEK 12,990.

Although a price reduction of 50 percent will become a reality soon, it is still significantly more expensive than the alternatives. The main competitor Radeon R9 295X2 is available for just under SEK 8,000 and in its own line there is also the Geforce GTX 980 in SLI for SEK 11,000 and the GTX 970 in SLI for a little more than SEK 7,000.

On the way to being phased out

The Geforce GTX Titan Z was launched just before the summer and now there are many indications that not even six months later it is about to be phased out. In addition to the new price, information to SweClockers states that the stocks at distributors are already or are being emptied, which means that retailers will no longer be able to buy more cards of Nvidia’s worsting model.
