For Nvidia’s consumer-oriented graphics cards, the Pascal architecture has been valid since the launch of the Geforce GTX 1080 in May 2016. Several rumors surrounding the name of the next graphics architecture and when this may be presented are circulating, with Ampere and Turing topping the lists while many believe in new graphics cards for the summer. .
In connection with Nvidia’s press conference ahead of Computex 2018, Overclock3D reports that Pascal will probably have to hang on for a while longer. During the conference, it was asked when the next generation of graphics cards will reach the market, to which the graphics giant’s CEO Jensen Huang replied that this will not happen in the near future.
Thus, it is unlikely that the company intends to talk about the Geforce GTX 11 series during the upcoming trade fair. Instead, the focus is expected to be on screens with high refresh rates, 4K UHD resolution and G-Sync. The category is also expected to be flanked by information about the technology RTX, which enables ray tracing in games.
