Nvidia Releases Driver To Fix Fan Issues In GTX 1080 Founder’s Edition

Nvidia recently released its latest graphics card Geforce GTX 1080. So far, the card has only been released in one version, namely Nvidia’s own reference cooler Founder’s Edition. Several users have reported problems with the card’s fans going up at high speeds, even when the card is not under load.

Nvidia has noticed the problem and now promises to fix it with the next driver. Users who have reported as well as independent tests indicate that the fan problems are not related to either the graphics card’s temperature or clock speed. It is also reported that the problem cannot be fixed by setting up custom fan curves with third-party software, such as EVGA Precision.

Nvidia has not announced the cause of the problem, but on the company’s forum they announce that a new driver that fixes the problem will be released on June 7.
